The ACT Government will release a plan today aimed at getting people out of cars and onto public transport.
All ACTION buses will have bike racks attached to the front as part of the Integrated Transport Framework.
Transport Minister John Hargreaves says cyclists would be able to travel on the buses for free.
"We are committed to that being rolled out so that every single bus in our fleet will have a bike rack on the front of it and so that means retrofitting some and buying new ones with them already on it," he said.
"Of course it's a matter of supply so we just have to get them when we can get them and install them when we can."
